If the world was full of doctors, who would be the patients? If the world was full of lawyers, who will be the clients? If the world was full of teachers, who are the students? And the list just goes on. We have different dreams because everyone is different. Students always want to have a glamorous, famous-sounding profession when they are older.

But we cannot all dream the same dreams, or go through the same courses. We could study wire management because we are fascinated with wires, or be a social worker because of our passions, or be an astronaut because we want to reach the stars.

Our differences are what make us tick, they define each of us. So, let us not compare people or ask why we are not like her/him. This is just a very simple lesson we need to learn and pass on, because sometimes we tend to forget it and most of the time, we just mold ourselves to be like other people.

I and my husband got an iPad2 as our birthday present from my parents-in-law. It was really very sweet of them to give us an iPad. But I’m the one using it more than my husband.

The kids have a chance to play with it from time to time. One day, my 5-year old daughter told me: “Look Mummy, I show you how to download free games on your iPad.” LOL. Kids nowadays are smart like that.

I don’t believe in letting them use my tablet computer all the time. However, letting them use it for educational purposes for a certain period of time is healthy.

I hope to keep it this way.

There was a night when my husband and I slept so late. Reason? We played some songs and sang our hearts out. We called it our karaoke night. We don’t have karaoke yet but hoping one day we could invest on it along with a good microphone and microphone accessories. For me, singing together along with a song is good bonding enough. It does create a lasting memories.

So what songs did we sing? Songs by Air Supply, Celine Dion, Reo Speedwagon, etc. Judging from our list of singers, you already can tell which era I and my husband came from. Really great songs from the 70′s and 80′s. I don’t say I don’t like the songs of 2010′s… It’s just that I used to listen to songs more before than these days. Oh well, enough being so defensive. LOL.

Some women complain that their hubbies have forgotten to give them flowers since they got married. I don’t think their men did that on purpose. There are so many pressures in married life that most men just have forgotten how it is to be romantic.

I am thankful that my dear hubby still remembers to give me flowers at least once a month. Did I mention that I was his first love ever? He fondly tells me about this promise he made to himself when he was still single: that when he gets married, he was going to give flowers to his wife every month. Some people say I am lucky—but I think “blessed” is a more appropriate term.

Whenever I receive a bouquet of those gorgeous flowers month after month, I’d always wish I could keep them longer. Sweet hubby just does not fail to make me happy. I would not be surprised if he orders from proflowersphoenix.com if he has to!

Hubby and I love to go to IKEA. Most of the time it’s not to do some serious shopping but just to get some ideas on how to decorate our home and yes, I must admit I do get tempted to buy stuff which I did not plan on buying from time to time.

I love the fact that we have a garden in our home. We used to live in a condo, which we loved as well but having a yard for the kids to play at really makes a lot of difference.

I am thinking of getting patio furniture soon… maybe on our next IKEA trip. I am not planning to buy anything else, but IKEA trips are always coupled with the best temptations so I’d better ready myself… and my budget too!

One of the joys of traveling is to set foot on different airports. There is something in airports that bring sheer excitement. Of course, an airport can mean that you are about to get into another country or region, which could mean that you are in for another ultimate adventure. On the other hand, it could mean that you are about to leave a place and go to another! So, yes, I think that what makes airports special.
There are some airports that are so strict with what you bring on your baggage. Some airports have such a tight security that they have to invest in the best metal detectors.

I wonder where I would be traveling this year? Most of my trips I did not even plan when a year starts. They are just surprises that come along the way. So, I guess I will just get ready when another surprise comes up! Am I excited? You bet!

One thing that I love about travelling aside from taking photos of new places and sights, is tasting new food. I am quite adventurous with food, and I just marvel at the diversity of tastes from country to country. Living in a country with diverse cultures, my taste buds have easily adopted to Chinese food and Indian curry. Since I have also lived in Thailand for a few years, I do miss the spicy Thai cuisine and crave for it from time to time.

I don’t know if being a foodie would qualify me for Food Service Jobs. But I guess this kind of job would require training, and is not just about food tasting. A sufficient knowledge in food and its nutritional value would also be needed, which I don’t have.

When everyone else is giving and exchanging gifts, I am wishing, just wishful thinking, to receive a pretty bouquet from my husband or from just any of my friends. There are ProFlowers coupons via Facebook that can be availed of. That means flowers and bouquets will be sold at discounted prices.

Receiving flowers is actually quite uncommon during the holiday season as most would give other things than flowers. But if this wish won’t come true this Christmas, there’s still Valentine’s Day come February, and time flies so fast, so in just a couple of weeks from now, who knows I might receive one.

One thing I noticed about the different generations are that the younger generations start everything early. Kids , nowadays, go to school when they are 2 or even younger, they are trained to swim at 6 months, they are given gadgets, which I do not have, when they turn 10, at 13 most of them are in a relationship, some of them are pregnant at 16, and they start working. Maybe they are trying to outdo the older generation and try to be more advanced and live life faster.

At this rate, they would need to buy their own life insurance earlier, just to be prepared. Sometimes, I wish they would not grow up this fast and just retain their innocence but because of media, we can only filter the messages they send but not completely shield the children from it.

This week is truly an exciting week for us, we have friends and family who are with us to reach out to the Mokens. The other day, we went to Koh Rhoa, the island has the biggest Moken population.

We had an early Christmas show for the kids, two of my clown friends did a skit on Jesus’ birth and how He is a gift in our lives. Afterwards, we played with them and we all had fun. I was wondering whether next time we could do an arts and craft session with them like paper mache, Beads, origami and other simple things.
